Travelling to Echuca

Echuca, 200KM north of Melbourne on the Murray River is easily accessed by car, train or bus.

Train. There is a daily service.  The timetable does change so we recommend you contact the V/Line to obtain details. Most of our B&B's will be happy to pick you up from Echuca Station though Ayr House, Cadell and Echuca Gardens are all within reasonable walking distance. It's a great way to enjoy a weekend in Echuca with no need for a car!

Buses go through Echuca from Adelaide (via Mildura), Melbourne and Sydney (via Albury). The buses also stop at the Echuca Station.

Road from Melbourne, simply take the Hume Freeway exiting at the Kilmore exit and drive through Kilmore to Heathcote. Just past the main Heathcote township, turn right into the Northern Highway and pass through Elmore and Rochester before arriving in Echuca. It's an easy 2 1/2 hour drive.

Air?  There are no commercial flights to Echuca but Aus-Air, an Echuca-based charter firm offer economical flights for 2 or more people.  They can leave from either Essendon or Moorabbin Airports and the flight will take about an hour.  Ask them to take you for a scenic flight over the Murray River though - it is spectacular!  Aus-Air have own courtesy bus in Echuca and will transport you to the B&B of your choice. It's a superb way to visit Echuca for a special occasion!
