Echuca Farmers Market

Fresh produce? Fruit, vegetables, cheese, meats & conserves

Echuca's Farmer's market is held on the first and third Saturday mornings each month, and with the arrival of Spring, there's wonderful new season cherries and strawberries available (they're the best!), sweet oranges, apricots, peaches, plums and for vegetable lovers you'll be delighted by the summer vegetable offerings.

2010 Echuca Farmers Market dates are:

The Farmer's market offers much more, there is Pacdon of Bunnaloo who sell genuine English pork pies, wonderful pork sausages and an array of smallgoods. Here's a link to their website Pacdon of Bunnaloo in case you can't get to the Farmer's market. Photo courtesy of Pacdon showing their freshly made Port Pies. You'll find Pacdon at the market offering tastings of these traditional pork pies

You'll also find local cheese, wine, lamb and a good selection of jams and conserves.  There is one secret to the Farmer's market - get there early!

The Martins (who own McAuley on Mayfield B&B) temporarily shut their B&B during the cherry harvest and concentrate on their other love -  Tatalia Cherries.  They sell them at the local farmer's market and from their farmgate in Moama and not surprisingly, most of the B&B's offer these local cherries to their guests and it's no wonder - they are delicious!
Farmer's markets are held  in Alton Reserve (near the Fire Station) in Echuca. Coming Markets are held the first and third Saturday of each month.   There's lots of fresh produce available at market prices.
The cherry season is here but remember, there's an abundance of other fruits and local produce too! At the moment you can't beat the new season strawberries, apricots and of course those juicy oranges!

Here's a B&B operator getting oranges to make fresh orange juice. As you can see below, there's a wide selection of jams, cakes and even biscuits for our 4-legged best friends!

So make a booking at any of our B&B's see Accommodation for a full list, if you want to know if the farmer's market is on for the weekend you are coming simply ask your host - they'll be glad to tell you and will most likely be heading there early themselves to beat the rush!
